What We Believe

St. Paul Lutheran Church, Chuckery  is a congregation of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod. Our confession of faith

comes to us from the Bible and from our Lutheran Confessions.

We confess the Three Ecumenical Creeds (the Apostles Creed, the Nicene Creed, and the Athanasian Creed). Our chief confession is the Augsburg Confession, which is from the Book of Concord and includes Luther's Small and Large Catechism. We believe that the Book of Concord is the correct exposition of the Scriptures.

We believe that the Triune God - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit - is the one true God. We believe in God the Father as our creator, the Son as our Redeemer, and the Spirit as our Sanctifier.

We believe that the Bible is God's inspired Word and that it is his revelation for us of what we should believe to be saved. The Bible teaches us that we are  sinners and Jesus is our Savior. The Bible teaches us everything that God has done for us in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. The Bible teaches us who Jesus is: the incarnate Son of God who has come to save sinners.
