A Bit About Me
Elena Pfeiffer began piano lessons at age 8 and organ lessons at age 12. At 14 she began accompanying the divine service from the organ bench, when her home congregation in Minnesota hired her as Organist and Choir Accompanist. From 2008-2010, while in college, she served as Youth Choir Director and Substitute Organist at Fox Point Lutheran Church, Fox Point, WI. After graduating summa cum laude from Concordia University Wisconsin in 2010 with degrees in K-12 Choral Music Education and Parish Music, she served as Director of Music at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Sheboygan, WI, and K-8 General Music and Choir teacher at St. Francis Borgia Catholic School in Cedarburg, WI, until 2013. In 2014, after moving to Ohio, she began as interim organist and volunteer choir accompanist at St. Paul Lutheran Church Chuckery, where she now serves as Music Director. She has 16 years of professional experience as an organist, accompanist, and director of handbell, adult, and children’s choirs, as well as 5 years of experience teaching PK-8 grade music and 21 years of experience teaching piano and organ. Some highlights of her musical training include being a two-time state winner of the Minnesota Music Teachers Association Piano Competition and earning top honors and scholarships for both academics and organ accomplishment while studying at Concordia University Wisconsin. In addition to serving as Music Director of St. Paul Lutheran Church Chuckery, Elena teaches piano and organ, and volunteers as concert accompanist and recitalist at area schools and churches. She lives in Marysville with her husband, Peter and their four children. Together they enjoy traveling, watching and playing sports, baking sourdough, and laughing at corny jokes.
